The connection between yoga and high blood pressure
The connection between high blood pressure and dementia!
When it comes to getting healthy and lowering your blood pressure, you better keep an eye on your sugar.
We have a new sister site bpgraph.com . Check it out!
Many folks who get high blood pressure start out with isolated systolic hypertension. This is when the top number is too high (typically over 140) but the bottom number is in range (70-80). This is what I had. Doctor's disagree about whether to treat this or not. I found this article on the Mayo Clinic's site that explains it well.
As the first user of BP Track I have been happy to report that I am making progress. That old management saying, "what gets measured gets done" seems to apply to me. I am on a lower dose of BP meds now (I dropped the diuretic component). I can't honestly tell you exactly what it was that did it. I have lost about 5 pounds and pretty much only drink one glass of wine per day(missing my bourbon though!).
I also have a new dog and I am walking the darn thing day and night. Which I know is good for me, but is sort of a pain too.
Anyway, I hope keeping track of your BP on BPTrack keeps you focused and motivated!
Everybody knows that everyday exercise is key to improving blood pressure, losing weight etc. But the vast majority of bicycling gear is designed for racing, mountain biking etc. This is great, but is overkill for your average bicyclist. I love the design of this jacket. Its the perfect compromise between looks and utility.
Well, nothing motivates change like fear. Here is a nice video illustrating why high blood pressure is so bad for you!
Trying deep breathing to lower blood pressure
Does eating more salt cause high blood pressure?
If you are like me, you may be curious exactly how blood pressure is measured. This article does a nice job of describing how the doctor does it. Its pretty subtle, but I think pretty interesting.

Wrist blood pressure monitors can be accurate, but you have to use them precisely.
I found this article while surfing on blood pressure medication. Its good that more Americans are aware they have high blood pressure because then they can treat it. Our site can help you monitor your blood pressure so you can work with your doctor to control it.
I found this article Blood Pressure and Sugar relating sugar and blood pressure. Personally, I have cut way back on sugar in the last couple of years and the health benefits have been great.
